We Visited Eskişehir Governor Hüseyin Aksoy.

In order to reach large segments of the society and raise awareness about Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), which is a preventable disease. Our collaborations are of great importance in the work we carry out. In this context, we visited Eskişehir Governor Hüseyin Aksoy in his office on January 3, 2024.

We congratulated Mr. Aksoy for his new position and said that SMA is not as far away as we thought and that the disease can be seen in the long term with carrier screening tests. We stated that the frequency can be reduced. In addition, we shared our feedback regarding carrier screening by giving information about the activities we carry out as the Turkish SMA Foundation.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors attended the meeting on behalf of our foundation. Ali Soyer, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Ece Soyer Demir, General Secretary Mehmet Demir, Social Supports Coordinator; Nazlı Demir and Administrative and Financial Affairs Coordinator Burcu Demirhan attended.
