MINISTER OF LABOR AND SOCIAL SECURITY VEDAT IŞIKHAN ANNOUNCED THAT ONE MORE DRUG IN THE TREATMENT OF SMA WILL BE COVERED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF REIMBURSEMENT.

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan; 14’’’’ At the Congress of the Association of Private Hospitals and Health Institutions (OHSAD), it was announced the important development that SMA patients have been waiting for. Speaking at the meeting, Minister Işıkhan said, "In addition to the drug that we have been reimbursed for since 2017, we will include another drug that is used in the treatment of the disease and is easy to use in our SSI reimbursement list for the treatment of our children."

After this important statement, we expect that the issue of which types of patients and age groups will benefit will be clarified with the SUT (Health Practice Communiqué) and patients will be provided with access to the medicine within the scope of reimbursement as soon as possible.
