Newborn screenings; It ensures that every baby born is tested for serious health problems such as genetic diseases and metabolic disorders. Thanks to these tests, diseases can be detected and early treatment can be started before symptoms even begin.

Progressive muscle diseases such as SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) are serious diseases that directly affect the quality of life. However, thanks to the Newborn Screening Test, this disease can be detected at an early stage and children can live healthier lives by starting treatment at a much earlier age. Early intervention increases the response rate to treatment and can reduce the negative effects of the disease.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) has been added to the screening panel as of 09.05.2022.

Scanning Thanks to its work, approximately 4500 children can be protected annually from the consequences of their existing diseases.
