Novartis' new treatment for SMA, Itvisma (onasemnogene abeparvovec-brve), has been approved by the FDA. This approval is considered an important development that contributes to the expansion of SMA treatment options.
Itvisma is stated to aim to increase mobility and independence in individuals living with SMA by supporting slowing the progression of the disease.
