SMA Carrier Screening Program is in its 4th year!

One ​​in every 50 people in Turkey is a carrier of SMA. While access to treatment for SMA patients is of great importance, the most effective way to prevent the disease and prevent the emergence of new cases is through the application of carrier screening tests.

Thanks to these tests, individuals who are carriers are detected in advance and SMA in the babies to be born. It is aimed to minimize the risk.

You can have the screening test, which is applied free of charge to newly married couples or already married couples planning pregnancy, by applying to family health centers.
