Legislative Change Preparatory Workshop for the Retirement Right of Women Caring for Severely Disabled People at Home
On 28 September in Ankara, representatives from political parties, civil society A workshop was held with the participation of many people from organizations, lawyers, experts and women who care for the disabled.
People who care for the severely disabled at home cannot participate in working life because they have been caring for the disabled for many years. During the period, only "maintenance pension" is paid. They have to meet their needs with the wages they pay. This is organized to ensure that people who care for the severely disabled at home are considered employees in order to ensure their social security, that they benefit from employee rights equally with all other employees, that their social security premiums are covered by the state and that their retirement rights are recognized. Turkey SMA Foundation Deputy President Ece Soyer Demir also participated in the workshop.
Çat the workshop; Presentations were made on women who care for the disabled, transfer of experiences of women who care for the disabled, evaluations about the legislative change for the retirement right of women who care for the disabled, the establishment of the legislation preparation commission, planning of the legislation change process and reports were prepared for the change in the law.
