Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca; Following his statements regarding the use of a second drug in the treatment of SMA, he also shared the current data on the subject in our country. The data shared with the public by our Minister, who includes diagnostic and screening programs, is as follows:

- This year, SMA was added to the screening program as well as Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.

- A total of 1 million in Turkey. More than 100 babies and adults were screened for SMA.

- SMA Carrier Screening Test was performed on 493 thousand 407 people before marriage. was applied.

- According to the test results, 118 babies were diagnosed with SMA. The treatment process of babies who were deemed appropriate to start treatment by the SMA Scientific Board was initiated.
