We Will Continue to Overcome the Suffering with the Power of Solidarity

The earthquake that took place on February 6, 2023, centered in Kahramanmaraş, affected 11 provinces and thousands of people, unfortunately leaving behind great destruction and pain.

So Non-governmental organizations also had important duties in the rapidly growing support and cooperation with the participation of all segments of society after a major disaster. As a part of this solidarity, we created our emergency action plan for SMA patients and families in the region and started to implement it from the first hours of the earthquake. We meet the needs of our patients, from medical supplies to transportation, from food and clothing to rental support. We delivered the support we provide in every field they need to the region.

We conducted a follow-up study in the first months to identify the needs of SMA patients in the region and repeated the study at the end of the first year to obtain information. We updated it.

As Turkey SMA Foundation; We find continuity very important in all needs, from evacuation of patients on respirators to post-treatment and maintaining healthy care standards in disasters. For this reason, we will continue to support our patients by continuing our program with the contribution of our donors in the coming period. We do.
